1. Who provides Duck Buddy

Duck Buddy ("the extension," "we," "us") is published by Ben Sheetrit. For any privacy question, contact us at sheetritben@gmail.com.

2. Scope

This policy covers the Duck Buddy browser extension for Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge. It does not cover the websites you visit while the extension is installed, which have their own privacy practices.

3. What data we collect

None that ever leaves your device. We do not collect personally identifiable information, browsing or web history, the contents of web pages, form inputs, keystrokes, location, IP-based data, or analytics. We have no way to see what you do.

4. What is stored on your device, and for how long

The extension saves your game progress and preferences using the browser's local chrome.storage.local on your own computer:

• Which duck species you've discovered, and how many you've caught.
• Eggs in your incubator, and ducks in your nursery and habitat.
• Your settings (sound on/off, the global on/off, and any sites you've paused).

Retention: this data stays on your device until you delete it. You can erase it at any time from the extension's Settings page ("Reset all data"), by clearing the browser's storage for the extension, or by uninstalling the extension. We never receive a copy.

5. How the permissions are used

• Host access to websites — so the duck can appear and animate on the pages you visit. The extension only draws its own duck overlay; it does not read, modify, store, collect, or transmit any page content.
• storage — to save your collection and settings locally (Section 4).
• scripting — to activate the duck on tabs that were already open before the extension was installed, without making you reload them.

6. Network activity

Duck Buddy makes no network requests. The duck artwork and the quack sound are bundled inside the extension. Nothing is downloaded from or uploaded to any server while you use it.

7. We do not sell or share your data

Because we collect no data, we have nothing to sell, rent, trade, or share. We do not disclose any information to third parties, advertisers, data brokers, or anyone else. This includes "sale" and "sharing" as defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA).

8. Your privacy rights

Privacy laws such as the GDPR (EU/UK) and CCPA/CPRA (California) give you rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data. Because Duck Buddy holds no personal data about you on any server, there is nothing for us to retrieve or delete on your behalf. The only data that exists is local to your device and fully under your control — you can view it in your browser's storage and erase it any time (Section 4). If you believe we hold data about you, contact us using the details in Section 1.

9. International data transfers

Not applicable. No data leaves your device, so there are no cross-border transfers.

10. Security

Your data never travels over the network and is stored by your browser's built-in local storage, protected by your operating system and browser profile. There is no account, password, or server that could be breached to expose it.

11. Children's privacy

Duck Buddy is suitable for all ages and collects no data from anyone, including children. It is not directed at children under 13 for the purpose of collecting data, and it knowingly collects no data from them (consistent with COPPA).

12. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date above will change and the updated policy will be reflected in the extension's store listing. Note: if a future version of Duck Buddy adds features that handle data — for example purchases, accounts, sync, or analytics — this policy will be revised before those features ship, and we will describe exactly what is collected and why.
